About Mark Gonzales:
One of the most engaging voices of a generation, Mark Gonzales is a poet, educator, and founder of the Human Writes Project. He holds a Master’s in Education from the University of California, Los Angeles. He appeared on HBO’s Def Poetry, Fox News, Mun2, NPR, and cultivated projects in Cuba, Palestine, Jordan, Qatar, Portugal, Spain, the U.A.E, and across the United States.  He is the son of one who worked the fields, his tongue tap-dance tangos between Brooklyn mothers and Baghdad sons, and he hums in the name of all Indigenous people. The depth of his work can be seen in the diversity of his audience, as he has received acclaims from lyricists, educators, senators, foster youth, former prisoners, and members of the United Nations.

Activist Conversations is an inter-generational monthly gathering where folks come together to talk on a range of themes and skills related to social change and community organizing.
